We hope that many of you will share our enthusiasm about the Government’s announcement on Friday 27 November 2020 that telehealth is here to stay!
There are some changes that come with this news which we would like to draw your attention to:
- All patients must be seen face-to-face at least once during the last 12 months to qualify for the Medicare rebate for telehealth.
- If you haven’t been seen face-to-face within the last 12 months, you can still have a telehealth appointment but you will be unable to claim the Medicare rebate for the consultation fee.
- New patients will first need to see our doctors face-to-face before using our telehealth services.
- All telehealth appointments will be privately billed in accordance with our existing fee schedule.
The only exceptions apply to children under 12 months of age, people who are homeless or people who are required to self-isolate or quarantine as a result of COVID-19.
If you’re unsure about whether you have been seen within the last 12 months, please give us a call and we can check for you.
